Synopsis
Julian comes out to his parents Linda & Jim and doesn't quite get the response he'd hoped for. Val & Tommy - competitive neighbours - arrive with ecstatic news of their son - Dave - he's just got engaged. But did Jim really see what he thought he saw in the garage...?The Cast List
- Linda:
- (43). An extremely loving mother – quite possibly overbearingly so. Craves the attention of all who use her as a doormat. Well-spoken and probably married below her. Passive aggressive.
- Jim:
- (45). Northern Irish estate agent. Loves drinking, smoking and eating kebabs. He’s past the fighting. Done well through his scrupulous business sense. Wants Julian to follow in his footsteps. Sarcastic.
- Julian:
- (19). Aloof, dreamy art student. Had a tough time at school – never felt he fitted in. In his first year at university and enjoying every facet of his new-found independence. Will find it hard being the apple of his mother’s eye again.
- Val:
- (48). People are often offended by Val’s approach to honesty. She’s not generally intending to offend – she just rarely thinks before she speaks. Bored housewife, constantly finding new ways to fill her dull existence. Is at the end of her tether with Tommy. Botox addict.
- Tommy:
- (45). Flash Harry. If it’s been done, he’s done it but it cost far more. Car salesman. Obsessed with money. Showers Val, who he adores, with money and gifts.
- Dave:
- (19). Sporty, not blessed with intelligence, good looking, great body. Loves drinking and eating kebabs. Loves Jordan. Is open to physical challenges.
