Synopsis

It’s the 1st of December 1944. The government has said that the Home Guard are to be stood down on the 3rd of December. Their uniforms and arms returned. We go to the hall in Upper Catchpole where the Home Guard is going on parade one last time to prepare a Christmas celebration for the town.

The Cast List

Bill Brack. (Bill):
49. Lost his left arm on the Somme in 1917, invalided out. Owns the Ironmongers shop and runs it with his wife and daughter. A corporal in the Home Guard.
Reginald Hurst. (Reg):
60. Was in the pay corps in WW1. A solicitor. Captain in the Home Guard.
Mike Riches. (Mike):
46. A teacher at the local primary school. A sergeant in the Home Guard.
Frank Adams. (Frank):
39. A garage mechanic. A private with the Home Guard.
Steven Cross. (Steve):
49. Works for the council. A private with the Home Guard.
Margery Cessington-Smythe. (Margie):
29. Daughter of the local squire. A private with the Home Guard
Sarah Cross. (Sarah):
